I always fancied the quote by Andy Warhol which goes: "an artist is somebody who produces things that people don't need to have." Art may not be a necessity of life when it comes to survivialism, but when it comes down to it, what would we do without the sheer magic of creativity and imagination? Envision carrying on from day-to-day without the heart, beauty, and communication found in art. The spirit recognizes that art leads us on a journey which holds the inner-child close-at-heart, guiding us toward dreams come true. This is what Andy's quote means to me.
We just completed another year of Dragon*Con, the second of which I worked a booth. I enjoyed it so much that I'll definitely be setting up a table again at Dragon*Con next year. All of you lovelies who were able to come out to visit me -- I hope to see you there again for chit-chat and storytime.
Aside from the marvelous madness of prepping for and winding down from a massive show, I'm primarily focused on my second tarot, and my Witchlings deck of spells. Since both of these projects are in-the-works, I have no exact publication date to offer as of yet, but you can watch the progress of the Joie de Vivre tarot here, where you can also purchase giclee prints.
It may only be September, but my 2011 Pixie Kin wall calendars have arrived, and they look fabulous! Printed on heavyweight, recycyled paper, I'm offering this item to you signed until I run out of personal copies.
With every $35 order, you'll receive a limited-edition signed/numbered 'Fluffy Space Cat' print matted to 5x7" in a spacey gold mat. Available while quantities last: this edition is limited to only 25.
Keep believing in magick.
Purrs,
